Wage and hour lawsuits are the among the most frequently filed lawsuits in California. There is good reason for that. Aggrieved employees can recover unpaid wages, overtime compensation, liquidated damages, penalties and civil penalties. Plaintiffs’ attorneys are entitled to an award of attorneys’ fees if they win any part of their case.
Many employers incur liability because they fail to properly calculate the regular rate of pay (“RRP”). It is the RRP on which overtime compensation is based.
