Differences of opinion, worldwide tensions, and the current political landscape can put professionalism to the test and potentially contribute to conflicts among workers. According to a recent SHRM Civility Study, the incidents of incivility at work have reached an all-time high. These acts of incivility may lead to communication barriers, a decline in morale, and an increasing number of workplace complaints.   However, with proper planning, effective supervisory training, and intentional implementation of preventive measures, leaders can help de-escalate conflict while issues are still manageable.
