As per Cal. Civ. Code 1786.18(a), criminal convictions are reportable for a period of seven years.

The FCRA requires an employer to notify an applicant in writing in the event it intends to take adverse action against him/her. Adverse action includes the denial of employment or any other decision for employment purposes that adversely affects any current or prospective employee. The employer must give the applicant at least 5 days to dispute the accuracy of the information and to provide mitigating information.
